The house fire on Walnut Street from last night is being investigated as arson.
The blaze at 1803 Walnut began around 8:15, with 23 fire-fighters and seven vehicles responding to the scene to find it fully engulfed in flames, according to the report.
The two-story duplex sustained 50-thousand dollars worth of damage, which was nearly a complete loss. The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined on the Fire Department report, but Hopkinsville Police collected evidence and took an arson report that lists two suspects. Both reports say evidence was collected on the scene by HPD.
No one was inside at the time of the fire, with 50-year old Mary Kennedy listed as the resident and Jennifer Fielder as the owner.
