Two homes were complete losses due to fire in Clarksville Thursday evening and overnight, with weather possibly a factor in at least one of the incidents.
Clarksville Police Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says residents at 299 Ellsworth Court heard a lightning strike and smelled something burning during a storm, but couldn’t find any fire initially.
The family decided to evacuate anyway and their home went up in flames soon after. Officer Knoll doesn’t give the address of a second fire, but says that structure was under construction. The cause of that early morning blaze is undetermined.
