An Assistant Christian County Attorney was injured in a single vehicle wreck on Cox Mill Road last night.
The report from Hopkinsville Police says 49-year old Lindsey Adams of Hopkinsville was southbound on Cox Mill Road just before 9 when he ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch.
His vehicle traveled eight to 10 feet off the roadway before hitting a tree head-on. Police say the collision was hard enough that the entire engine was pushed back within the compartment and the front axle was damaged.
Adams told police he just got too close to the shoulder and couldn’t avoid hitting the tree once his tires went off the pavement. Adams sustained injuries to the arms and leg and was taken by his wife to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. The report says he was wearing his seat belt.
