A series of severe thunderstorms traversed the southern Pennyrile this afternoon, though there were no reports of serious damage.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect for southern Christian and Todd and eastern Trigg Counties at times. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and small hail were all reported, but damage reports were limited to a few incidents.
A tree was blown across Antioch Church Road, a tree partially blocked Butler Road—where a power line was also across the roadway. Wires were also blown across Crestview Drive at Pembroke Road.Lightning struck a power pole on Bradshaw Road and there were sporadic reports of power outages in Christian County. Some areas in the southern Pennyrile got over an inch of rain, while others got none at all. The cells moved slowly into Tennessee, where more warnings were issued.
