The use of Facebook continues to pay dividends for the Christian County Animal Shelter.
Officials at the shelter say they started using the social media site to post photos of available pets in January and have seen a 53 percent increase in the number of cats and dogs finding homes since then.
In the last six months of last year, the shelter averaged about 124 animals per month finding a home and averaged 190 per month so far this year.
Director Irene Grace says her goal is to average 200 animals per month this year, and to finish with close to 25-hundred total animals finding homes by the end of the year. Click here to visit the animal shelter's page and become a fan.
