8th District Representative John Tilley of Hopkinsville recently joined Governor Steve Beshear to ceremoniously sign gun rights laws.
A representative of the National Rifle Association was also present as the governor ceremoniously signed several new laws designed to protect the right to bear arms.
Representative Tilley was quoted as saying, he believes these laws will further help strengthen second amendment rights.
Legislation that Governor Beshear ceremoniously signed and took effect this week includes: House Bill 500, which limits all local governments and quasi-government agencies from having firearm ordinances that go behind limitations set by state law.
House Bill 484, which allows individuals to carry a concealed weapon without a permit as long as they are on their own property or property of close family members.
House Bill 563, which allows law enforcement officials to charge someone with fraudulent firearm transaction when someone falsely tells a firearms dealer or any person that the proposed firearms transaction is illegal when, it is legal or vice versa.
