State Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke continues to beat the drum for Kentucky to “opt out” of President Barack Obama’s health care reform bill.
Representative Dossett has joined state house minority leadership in making the plea to Governor Steve Beshear to join other states in saying Kentucky won’t participate. Representative Dossett says issues such as the Commonwealth’s pension fund would be put in greater danger with the increased cost of adding thousands to the Medicaid rolls.
He says Kentucky should be more focused on how to create and retain jobs at this point in time.
As reported last week, Dossett doesn’t believe it’s likely the Governor will choose to break party lines and opt out, but that isn’t stopping him and other Republicans and some Democrats from trying.
