A small fire in a Riverfront Drive apartment last night did 3-thousand dollars worth of damage.
Hopkinsville fire-fighters were called to 200 Riverfront Apartment 6A around 9:15 and found light smoke coming from the residence when they arrived from the main station a block down the road.
Within six minutes of the first call, the kitchen fire was under control. The blaze began in the floor of the kitchen and was confined to that area. A thunderstorm was ongoing at the time of the fire, but the cause of the blaze is listed as “undetermined.”
Emma Shanklin is listed as the resident of the property, with no one injured in the incident.
