Clarksville Police have arrested a man accused of holding up a Madison Street business late last month.
A news release says 44-year old Calvin Burke of Isaac Court, Clarksville is charged with robbery for allegedly going to the business June 30th and telling the clerk he wanted to buy a cigar.
When clerk opened the register, Burke allegedly reached across the counter to take money. A quick physical confrontation ensued between the two men, but Burke was able to get away with cash.
Detective Alan Morgan asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect and Burke was arrested around 9:30 Tuesday night. He is in the Montgomery County Jail on 15-thousand dollars bond.
