The lights are back on at the Eggners’ Ferry Bridge after crews went back and did the same work they had only recently completed.
Crews with the Kentucky Transporation Cabinet took several hours in tracking down the problem that made the bridge go dark Sunday night. Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says wires in one of the lights had shorted out, causing it to throw the breakers.
After some re-wiring work, Todd says the problem was fixed.
The outage caused no issues for watercraft, thanks in large part to the Transportation Department immediately issuing a statement to all area watercraft.
The bridge had only been re-opened for a little over a month when a private boater called to report the outage late Sunday night.
