Kentucky State Police say they will be out in full force on the Fourth of July holiday.
A news release says as part of the “Operation Blue Lights” summer traffic enforcement campaign, police are asking for motorists to take extra precautions when traveling the roadways and to have all of their appropriate paperwork on them.
Trooper Jonathan Biven says there will be roadblocks in strategic areas looking for anyone who may be driving impaired or committing any other traffic violation.
Captain Ricki Allen reminds citizens to be mindful of their surroundings and to be responsible on roadways.
Traffic fatalities are running well ahead of last year’s pace and police want to see that trend turned around.
