A good Samaritan likely saved the life of a Dawson Springs man Friday, who was trapped in a burning vehicle.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year old Tony Stewart of Dawson Springs was eastbound on Ilsley Road when he ran off the shoulder of the road. The shoulder was too deep for Stewart to bring the vehicle back onto the road and caused it to flip multiple times before landing against some trees.
The vehicle caught fire and Stewart was pulled from the wreckage by a passing motorist. Stewart was taken by ambulance to Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for treatment of his injuries.
