Wednesday is the Fourth of July and Independence Day will be commemorated at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West like never before.
101st Airborne Division Commander Major General James McConville will be the featured speaker for the dedication of a monument to the 71 known men from Christian County who fought in the Revolutionary War.
Official local historian William Turner said a lot of work went into organizing the event and in coming up with the 71 names.
Turner says remembering the 71 men is important on the Fourth of July.
The John Manire Chapter of the National Society of the sons of the American Revolution and Turner invite the public to attend. The Nashville Community Choir will provide patriotic music and the 101st Color Guard will present the Colors. The ceremony kicks off 10am Wednesday.
