Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews will be working at the Eggners’ Ferry Bridge again today after the navigational lights went dark last night.
A news release from the cabinet says a private boater called Calloway County dispatch around 11 last night and reported the lights on the bridge were out. A Kentucky State Trooper confirmed the report and officials in Marshall County immediately reported the outage to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard put a notice out to all mariners in the area that the bridge was dark and electricians will be at the bridge today to fix the problem.
Some of the lights were not working properly January 26th when the Delta Mariner slammed into the bridge, knocking out a 322-foot span. All of the lights were fixed in the repairing of the bridge, which re-opened just before Memorial Day.
