A Todd County infant is dead after a tragic accident on Bells Chapel Road this morning.
Todd County Deputy Sheriff Gerald Barnett says it appeared the one-year old Mennonite child crawled out a door and into a swimming pool at 2730 Bells Chapel—which is not the same road as Bell Chapel in Christian County.
An Air-Evac helicopter was called to the scene to take the infant to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, but the child succumbed to the injuries at the home. It was the second instance of a child drowning in a pool in western Kentucky this week, as a similar incident happened in Webster County Monday.
An autopsy is pending in the Todd County incident.
