Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle wreck with injuries in Lyon County, just east of the U.S. 62 Cumberland River Bridge yesterday.
State Police say the bridge was shut-down for about two hours yesterday morning as a result of the wreck.
51-year old Michael McLeod of Kuttawa was driving a Chevrolet SUV that was pulling a trailer, when the trailer began to fishtail, causing McLeod to lose control of his vehicle, strike a guardrail and then collide with a Buick driven by 58-year old Thomas Jennings of Eddyville.
State Police say after the collision, a load of lumber spilled onto the roadway from McLeod’s SUV causing traffic on both lanes of the highway to be blocked.
Thomas Jennings and his passenger, Barbara Jennings were transported by ambulance to Caldwell County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while Michael McLeod, and his passenger, Mitchell McLeod sustained no injuries.
