Two alleged armed robbers are now behind bars thanks to numerous tips to police that led to their arrests.
Police say on Wednesday around 10 p.m. two armed masked men entered the Chapala Market and Restaurant, located at 11-91 Fort Campbell Boulevard and demanded money from three female employees.
The victims told police that one of the suspects who was carrying a shotgun fired a shot into the ceiling, while the other suspect was seen with a pistol.
Police say the two suspects then instructed the employees to gather into an area and kneel down on their knees, while the suspects stole money from the business as well the victim’s purses and jewelry before they fled the scene.
Shortly after the incident, police followed leads and was able to identify and locate 33-year old Nicholas Allan Reed to his Orleans Drive residence, where police allegedly found stolen property inside his home.
During questioning, Reed admitted to entering the business with a handgun, in the company of 21-year old Daniel Gonzalez of Tandy Drive and leaving the store with items taken from the business and the employees.
21-year old Daniel Gonzalez of Tandy Drive and 33-year old Nicholas Allan Reed of Orleans Drive were both charged with aggravated robbery and were booked into the Montgomery County Jail with Gonzalez’s bond set at $250,000, while Reed’s bond set at $51,000.
