The former social worker indicted last week by the Christian County Grand Jury for allegedly lying in documents pertaining to the investigation in the case of 3-year old Alayna Adair has turned herself in to police.
Facing charges of tampering with public records is 41-year old Donna Monroe Currey of Elkton, who turned herself in late this morning.
Ms. Currey was the on-call social worker June 13th of last year when the initial allegations of abuse against the young Oak Grove girl came in to the Cabinet’s Abuse Hot Line. She is accused of making false reports of her activity in the “Continuous Quality Assessment” she was to have kept up with. It’s been widely reported that Ms. Currey logged a visit with the child and father that she never made. Alayna was allegedly beaten to death by her father soon after.
Ms. Currey made 10-thousand dollars bond and was released from the Christian County Jail soon after being booked in. She will be arraigned in Christian District Court next week.
