The man accused of murdering his father on Carter Road near Oak Grove last November appeared in Christian Circuit Court this morning.
56-year old Darrell Tidwell’s defense attorney was asking Judge John Atkins to reduce his bond from 250-thousand dollars. Judge Atkins said that wasn’t possible until Tidwell had gone through an interview with Pre-Trial Services, which did not happen in the weeks following his arrest as is customary.
Kentucky State Police say Tidwell shot his father—86-year old Kenneth Tidwell of Carter Road—to death at his father’s home November 13th.
Darrell Tidwell, who lived in Georgia, has claimed his father pulled a handgun on him first and that a struggle ensued. He will appear in court again Thursday morning when the bond issue will be re-visited.
