A Madisonville man was arrested by Hopkinsville Police yesterday morning for allegedly using a professional stock car driver’s name to charge items to a local construction company’s account.
The report says 42-year old Steven Johnson of Madisonville allegedly charged nearly 39-hundred dollars worth of electrical components to the account of Boyd Construction at Cayce Mill Supply by identifying himself as “Mark Martin” and signing that name to the receipt.
Johnson allegedly got away with the crime three times before, but Caycee Mill called John Boyd of Hopkinsville yesterday morning around 11am after another order was called in under the Mark Martin name. Boyd told employees the transaction was not authorized.
Johnson was arrested around 11:40 yesterday morning and charged with two counts of theft by deception and one count of forgery and was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
