A Clarksville man who claimed to be suicidal was arrested this morning after allegedly firing a shot into the air with police outside of his home.
Clarksville Police responded to the East Street home of 28-year old Jonathan Lamon around 1am after he called 911 and said he was going to hurt himself and that he had several loaded guns inside his residence.
Dispatchers told Lamon that police were outside his home and that’s when he turned off his porch and living room lights. Police say Lamon went outside in the dark and discharged a rifle round into the air.
Officers were able to see the muzzle blast, but could not get a good view of Lamon because of darkness. A news release says Lamon then went back inside, put his gun away and then came back out.
That’s when he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and lodged in the Montgomery County Jail on 5-thousand dollars bond.
