Kentucky State Police have made a murder arrest in an incident that was originally presented as an accident.
A news release says KSP first received a call from Greenville Police Memorial Day evening just before 7 that a male had been brought into the Muhlenberg Community Hospital emergency room by his wife and step-son.
The victim, 65-year old Floyd Slaton of Greenville, was dead when troopers arrived. His wife and step-son, 64-year old Deanna Slaton and 39-year old Joel Allen of Greenville, told authorities that Slaton had fallen down stairs which caused severe injuries to his head.
The autopsy results indicate Slaton died from multiple, blunt force trauma to the head. Further investigation included executing a search warrant at the 1800 State Route 1473 home where the victim lived.
Police say that led them to arrest Allen on murder and tampering with evidence charges and Ms. Slaton on hindering the prosecution of a case and tampering with evidence charges.
KSP Detective Billy Sumner is the lead investigator and the suspects were lodged in Muhlenberg County Jail.
