It won’t create any new jobs in Hopkinsville, but just over 400 jobs will be retained thanks in part to a 10-million dollar expansion at a local factory.
Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson joined other local and state officials at T-Rad on Frank Yost Lane this morning for the ground-breaking ceremony.
T-Rad Human Resources General Manager Phil Dunn was among three company officials who spoke and explained what will soon be happening at the industry formerly known as Copar.
Lieutenant Governor Abramson praised local industrial development officials and elected office holders for making the area more industry-friendly and said the state did its part in the expansion by approving a couple million dollars in incentives.
T-Rad manufactures all different types of metal radiators, mainly used on motor vehicles. The plant expanding on Frank Yost Lane has been in place since 1999. Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp and Judge-Executive Steve Tribble spoke at the ceremony, with Fiscal Court Magistrate Tom Jones also in attendance.
