Everyone knows crime can happen anywhere—even at the 400 mile yard sale.
That was the case Saturday on U.S. 68-80, when Marshall County Sheriff’s Sgt. Eddie McGuire received a call from a victim stating a female had paid for her merchandise with a fake 100-dollar bill.
The victim said the perpetrator left abruptly once getting her change and was able to give a good enough description that police found her a short distance down the road at another yard sale.
The suspect, identified as 37-year old April Novetske of Paducah, was allegedly in possession of the merchandise. She was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument and lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
