Clarksville Police seized about 70 pounds of marijuana yesterday afternoon thanks to an anonymous tipster.
Police say around 3:30 p.m. CPD’s Special Operations Unit received information that 60-year old Ernesto Galindo Mata of Edgehill Drive, Clarksville was in possession of a large quantity of marijuana.
After a traffic stop was conducted on Mata’s 2003 Chevrolet Astro van, police allegedly found multiple boxes of marijuana in his vehicle.
Police say the illegal drugs were smuggled from Mexico and Mata was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mata, who police say has a criminal history involving drugs is charged with possession for manufacture, sale or delivery and unlawful drug paraphernalia and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a bond worth over $25,000.
