Kentucky State Police say the man injured in a motorcycle wreck on I-24 at the Pennyrile Parkway interchange on Memorial Day afternoon has died from his injuries.
Officials at Vanderbilt University Medical Center had listed 60-year old Gary Osborne of Chapmansboro in stable condition as recently as early yesterday morning, but an email from KSP says he died around 9:45am from his injuries.
Osborne was attempting to merge onto I-24 off the Parkway around 6:30pm Monday when he lost control of his bike and drove into the median—ejecting him to the ground.
He was taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt for his head injuries, which would eventually claim his life. Police say he was not wearing a helmet. Osborne’s death marks the 15th on Kentucky roadways over the Memorial Day weekend.
