Hopkinsville Police initially thought they were responding to an armed robbery at a fast food establishment on West 7th yesterday afternoon, though it turned out to be an unusual case of wanton endangerment that remains under investigation.
The call went out as a robbery at the West 7th Wendy’s around 5:20pm, but officers quickly learned no robbery had occurred. Instead, 26-year old Brandon Santiago told police a man came in and asked to talk to him about the mother of his child.
The suspect then allegedly tried to punch Santiago, which he was able to block, but the suspect then pulled a small pistol and pointed it at Santiago’s head.
Santiago ran to the back of the business where the managers were having a meeting and told them what happened. The suspect, who is listed on the report, fled the business and the investigation continues.
