Hopkinsville Police will be out in full-force with extra officers and roadblocks this Memorial Day weekend.
Public Information Officer Paul Ray says the extra officers will be brought in for the roadblocks and the officers already scheduled to be on duty will do their normal patrols.
Officer Ray says there will be no exceptions—if you are caught drinking and driving, you will be arrested.
The department’s goal isn’t to make a lot of arrests, it’s actually to make no arrests according to Officer Ray.
Police agencies across Kentucky and Tennessee will be placing extra officers on roads in a concerted effort to make roads safer on a weekend that has traditionally been deadly for motorists.
