The man injured in a single-vehicle wreck in north Christian County yesterday morning remains hospitalized in Evansville.
Officials at St. Mary’s Hospital say 43-year old Michael Way of Russellville is in critical condition after being flown there from the scene of a wreck about four miles north of Crofton on Poole Mill Road around 6:30 Thursday morning.
The report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office says Way was westbound when he veered off the right side of the road and over-corrected crossing the roadway and striking a dirt embankment on the left side of the road.
Way’s vehicle over-turned, trapping him inside until the Christian County Rescue Squad could cut him free. Way was able to tell police he thought a blown out tire could have caused the accident, but all four tires were still inflated when the vehicle was turned upright.
Police do not believe alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the incident.
