Clarksville Police arrested a woman on bigamy charges this morning and arrested a Hopkinsville man who sought retribution.
Officers were called to 643 Riverside Drive around 1:30 to the report of a woman who had been assaulted and forced into a room and held against her will.
When they arrived, 26-year old Krystal Schurtz of Judge Tyler Drive told police she had been forced into a room while 24-year old Andrew Russell Roberts of Tanglewood Drive, Hopkinsville held the door shut and wouldn’t let her out.
Roberts told police that his wife had married another man in Kentucky, despite the fact that their divorce was not yet final. Schurtz allegedly denied being married to two men at once on three separate occasions, but the investigation determined she did have two husbands.
Police also allege they found an unlabelled bottle containing 14 pills which were determined to be a narcotic.
Ms. Schurtz was arrested and charged with bigamy, falsely reporting an incident and possession of a controlled substance. Roberts was arrested and charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment.
