Mayor Kemp says he plans to propose a smoke-free ordinance during the May 24th Hopkinsville Committee of the Whole meeting and is hopeful that council members will then forward the proposed ordinance to the regular council meeting on June 5th for first reading.

Mayor Kemp says there are several reasons why the proposed ordinance will help improve the well-being of residents.
Mayor Kemp says it’s the right thing to do and that the smoke-free ordinance will not have a detrimental affect on local businesses that currently allows patrons to light up.
