Officials with Hopkinsville Community College’s Foundation recognized recent scholarship recipients and honored donors for their contributions during an inaugural luncheon at the community college today.
HCC President, Dr. Jim Selbe says it is very important to recognize individuals who have made financial donations throughout the years to the community college, especially since their contributions helps pay for tuition for students who are otherwise unable to do so.
The event’s guest speaker was HCC Alumnus Danny Anderson who was a feature speaker during Second Lady Jill Biden and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis’ Community College to Career bus tour in February.
Anderson says his education means the world to him and that having the opportunity to school is priceless.
Anderson graduated from HCC in 2008 with an associate of applied science degree in nursing and says he hopes to inspire others to further their education and achieve their goals in life.
