An investigation of suspicious packages at a UPS terminal led to the arrest of two Madisonville residents yesterday.
A news release from Kentucky State Police says detectives obtained search warrants on the packages and discovered they contained a large quantity of marijuana.
Search warrants were also obtained for homes on West Center Street and Lindon Drive in Madisonville, where more marijuana was allegedly located. A total of 53 pounds of marijuana and 12-hundred dollars in cash were ultimately found and seized.
The investigation led to the arrests of 28-year old Kevin Sharp and 26-year old Kristen Casey of Madisonville on trafficking in marijuana charges. Both were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
