This year’s WHOP Rotary Radio Auction continues to trail behind last year’s pace, though there are still two more nights to make it up.
Public and private schools in Christian County have certainly done their part this year, with schools bringing in a total of 44-thousand, 192 dollars. That number is a record and is 45-hundred dollars more than last year’s total, which was also a record.
The elementary schools presented their donations last night, with Millbrooke bringing the most money for student loans and scholarships.
A total of 94 items were sold last night for $9,441, far less than the 133 items sold on Thursday of last year, which brought in $12,702. The Century and Goat Clubs are now 11-thousand dollars behind last year’s pace, and the overall auction total is right at 8-thousand dollars behind the 2011 pace.
The auction resumes tonight at 7pm at the Memorial Building and on Newstalk 95.3 FM and 1230AM and online at whopam.com.
