Two Hopkinsville men were arrested on unrelated sex crime charges yesterday afternoon.
The first arrest resulted from a search warrant at the home of 35-year old Robert Stites of Hopkinsville, where a laptop computer was seized on December 22nd of last year.
The Regional Computer Forensics Lab finished analyzing data on the hard drive yesterday and allegedly turned up 29 separate child pornography images. Stites was arrested and charged with possession of matter portraying the sexual performance of a minor and was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
The second arrest was on sexual abuse charges, after a 12-year old boy told his mother and police that 72-year old Coley Carl of Hopkinsville had been inappropriately touching him since September of last year.
Carl was charged with 1st degree sexual abuse.
