A Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured in a two-vehicle wreck at Lafayette Road and the Bypass yesterday morning.
The report from Hopkinsville Police says 31-year old Demond Sutton of Hopkinsville was southbound on Lafayette Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto the bypass just before 9am.
Sutton turned into traffic and saw that Deputy Micah Kaminski of Hopkinsville was northbound and veered to the right to try to avoid a collision. Deputy Kaminski, in an attempt to allow Sutton to make his turn without wrecking, had also veered to the same side and the two vehicles collided.
The front left fender of the police SUV struck the front left of Sutton’s vehicle. Sutton was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for leg pain, while Deputy Kaminski was taken by police cruiser for head and knee problems.
