Police in Clarksville are investigating a shooting that sent a young man to a Nashville hospital, though few details are known.
A news release from Officer Jim Knoll says the incident took place in the area of Cobalt Drive around 8:45 last night.
The 911 center received multiple calls of shots fired and a vehicle crash near the 2800 block of Cobalt. Another call said a man had been shot and was behind an apartment building near the 200 block of Terminal Road.
When officers arrived, they found a 26-year old male with multiple gunshot wounds on an apartment’s porch. Police also found an unoccupied Ford Mustang which had crashed on Cobalt.
The preliminary investigation determined the victim was shot while in the car and that he fled the vehicle on foot to the apartments. The victim was taken to Gateway Medical Center and later transferred to an undisclosed Nashville hospital, where he’s in critical but stable condition.
No suspects were located and the investigation continues. The victim’s name has not been released. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Clarksville Police.
