A Hopkinsville woman was arrested yesterday afternoon on criminal abuse charges, after her child was allegedly found with severe wounds from beatings.
The arrest card for 23-year old Charmaine Luise Wilder of Hopkinsville says social workers called police to 12C Pennyrile Apartments. Detective Scott Raup determined that Wilder had used some sort of cable to beat her 7-year old child on the back, shoulders and arms.
The abuse reportedly left cuts and welts and there were also reportedly signs of older cuts consistent with the same type of abuse. The child was placed with another family member, for the time being and Wilder was charged with criminal abuse and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
