The principal of a Marshall County school who had been acquitted on molestation charges five years ago was arrested and charged with rape Sunday afternoon.
A news release from Kentucky State Police says 46-year old Kent Barlow was arrested at his attorney’s office around 5pm after an investigation lasted much of the day into an alleged incident in the overnight to early morning hours.
The alleged victim was interviewed and Kentucky State Police obtained a search warrant on the Marshall County residence. Barlow is the principal at South Marshall Middle School and was acquitted on child molestation charges against a 6-year old in 2007, according to a story on WPSD TV’s website.
Barlow was charged with 1st degree rape, 4th assault, wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, and unlawful imprisonment. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by Trooper David Dick.
