While most of the area avoided the worst of the tornadoes and high winds from the morning storm system, a Cadiz woman had to be rescued from high water she tried to drive through.
Cadiz Police say 21-year old Brittany Herring of Cadiz attempted to drive through standing water on Old Hopkinsville Road around 11am and became stranded.
State Trooper Billy Over rescued Ms. Herring from her car, while Cadiz Officer Scott Brown rescued her dog that was along for the ride. No one was injured in that incident, though it did serve as a reminder of how dangerous it can be to attempt to drive through standing water on the road.
