A top ranking military official is expected to travel to Fort Campbell and talk to local soldiers this Friday.
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta will visit the local post to reportedly observe pre-deployment training, medical response training, and hold a question-and-answer session with soldiers and leaders.
In addition to his meet and greet with soldiers, Secretary of Defense Panetta will deliver a speech to about 400 soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division.
Panetta was sworn in as the 23rd Secretary of Defense on July 1st, 2011.
According to post officials, this will be Panetta’s first trip to Fort Campbell since he was sworn into office.
