While most area residents were home celebrating Christmas, Hopkinsville Police Officers were hard at work in keeping the community safe.
On Christmas, officers were dispatched to 112 West 1st Street in reference to a fight that had taken place at a residence.
According to police, 32-year old Zanae Shavon Humphries was in an altercation with her child’s father and during the argument she produced a handgun and fired one round towards the ground near the victim.
The victim told police he was sitting in his car at the time Humphries allegedly shot off one round, which he claims hit the ground near his vehicle’s rear tire.
Humphries was taken into police custody and charged with one count of 1st degree wanton endangerment.
Police say no one was injured as a result of the shooting and that the expended round and handgun was taken as evidence.
