The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department has identified the man they believe shot at a deputy near the Stewart County line Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect has been identified as 22-year old Jacob Roy Hammond. A news release says Montgomery County Sheriff's investigators worked through the night in an effort to identify and locate the shooter.
The black Toyota pickup truck that Hammond was in during the pursuit was located and had been listed stolen out of Stewart County a few days earlier. Warrants have been issued on Hammond for Attempted Criminal Homicide, Felony Evading and Theft of Property.
Hammond may be traveling with 29-year old Amber Nicole Lehman and police say she has an outstanding warrant for probation violation.
Police say Hammond and Lehman are considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should not attempt to make contact with them. Call 911 if you see them.
