The Christian County man injured in a wreck at a Pembroke railroad crossing Saturday morning remains in a Nashville hospital.
A spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Medical Center says 36-year old Junior McKnight is in critical, but stable condition.
McKnight had been eastbound on Duffy Street just after 6 a.m., when he drove onto the railroad crossing and was hit by a CSX train, according to Sheriff’s Deputy James Dragoo.
There are no flashing lights or gates at that crossing.
An ambulance took McKnight to Pembroke Elementary School, where a helicopter landed and flew him to Vanderbilt.
