Additional charges have been filed against the Elkton woman accused of having an active meth lab in her vehicle in the parking lot of the North Drive McDonalds Monday morning.
Thirty-three year old Jennifer Cunningham-Hadden of Elkton is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine in addition to public intoxication and unauthorized parking in a handicapped zone.
Officers had been called to the parking lot around 7 a.m. to check the welfare of a woman in a vehicle. When Officer Jason Brent approached Hadden-Cunningham’s SUV, he reportedly smelled a strong odor of ether and saw several components used to make methamphetamine inside.
The Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force was contacted to remove the lab and clean up the the vehicle. Agents allegedly found two bags of methamphetamine, glass pipes with burn marks and scales in addition to the actual lab.
McDonalds had to be shut down for about three hours while the scene was cleared of any dangerous items.
