More details are now known about a two-vehicle accident at Dawson Springs Road and the Eagle Way Bypass Wednesday afternoon that injured two people.
The Hopkinsville Police report from Officer Tommy Hoffman says 34-year old William Ahart of Cadiz had been eastbound in a sedan on the Bypass around 2:15, when 83-year old Rosemary Truskey of Hopkinsville ran a red light in a mini-van on Dawson Springs Road and the vehicles collided in the intersection.
The two vehicles went down an embankment and came to rest in a grassy area. Ms. Truskey was removed from the van by emergency personnel and taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Ahart was also taken by ambulance to the local hospital.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belt and neither had any passengers.

According to a dispatcher at ECC, the call was received at 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of the Eagle Way Bypass and Dawson Springs Road and involved two vehicles.
