Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred about one mile east of the Hopkins County line on Sunday morning.
State Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that 62-year old Terry Bowles of Greenville, was driving his pickup truck in the eastbound lane on KY 70 when it appears that he fell asleep.
Police say his vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and traveled down an embankment and struck a tree before coming to rest off the roadway.
Bowles, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.
The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, the Graham Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS also assisted at the scene.
