The Pennyrile Allied Community Services RSVP program will be sending care packages to members of the military stationed overseas after the Christmas season and they are asking for the public's help.
PACS RSVP Coordinator Mary Robinson says the men and women of the military receive a lot of packages during Christmastime, but those gifts slow down after the holidays.
Ms. Robinson says donations of snacks or other every day goods are being accepted through February at the PACS office on Liberty Street.
She says almost any type of non-perishable snack food item can be sent, in addition to other items that might just brighten the day of a soldier.
Cash donations are also being accepted to help pay for the shipping of the items.
