A Hopkinsville native remains in Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a vehicle versus motorcycle wreck in Stewart County, Tennessee from over the weekend.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol report says 23-year old John Stitt of Mississippi, formerly of Hopkinsville, was southbound on Bumpus Mill Road around 1:30 p.m. Saturday when a northbound vehicle driven by a 16-year old male failed to use due care and turned and hit Stitt in the side.
Stitt's motorcycle went to its side and came to rest along Robertson Hill Road. Stitt was flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical center, while the juvenile was not hurt.
Stitt is the son of Hopkinsville physician, Dr. John Stitt.
