Local defense attorney and former Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling has announced his intentions to run for Christian District Judge.
Boling announced Wednesday evening on his Facebook page that he will challenge incumbent Division II District Judge Arnold Lynch in next year’s election.
Boling says his twenty-plus years experience of practicing before more than thirty different judges has allowed him to see what works and what doesn't. He says he wants to build upon the practices of his predecessors if elected, while implementing new programs that will provide for the needs of both criminal victims and defendants and provide fairness and equality in civil cases.
Boling was elected Commonwealth’s Attorney in 2000 and he lost a campaign for re-election to Lynn Pryor in 2006. He has operated a private practice in Hopkinsville the last several years.
Judicial races are non-partisan and there is only a primary when more than two candidates file. Judge Lynch has not publically announced his intentions for next year’s election yet.
